In the pre kindergarten year, children attend for 6.5 hours a week. During this year the staff provide a program around children’s interests, skills and developmental stages.
For many children this is their first experience in a structured care and learning environment outside of the home. Assisting them with this transition and instilling in them a sense of being part of a broader community is a particularly important facet of our three year old program.
The main focus of the pre kindergarten year is to encourage children to socialise with their peers, develop a greater level of independence, self-esteem and self awareness, and respect for others and their environment. This is achieved through developmentally appropriate activities within a supportive and safe space.
Pre kindergarten offers a solid foundation and smoother transition into the kindergarten year.
